Fees & Policies

Regardless of the particular service, my rate is based primarily on the time spent providing said service.  The predominant part of this service will hopefully be the interview session. It will also include any time required to perform the following functions, as necessary:

  1. Review of important medical or psychological records
  2. Review of laboratory or other diagnostic studies
  3. Any time spent in the collection of collateral information, from family members, friends, teachers, or other providers
  4. Completion of any forms, including any work-related or educational-related forms
  5. Clinical documentation of the encounter

Fees

  • Initial assessments lasting up to 90 minutes (including documentation time) is $350.  Time beyond 90 minutes will be charged the typical hourly rate
  • Hourly fee: $300/hour
  • Brief visits up to 20 minutes including documentation time: $100
  • Intermediate visits up to 40 minutes including documentation time: $200

I will track the time closely, and round up to the nearest third of an hour. The minimum time charged for any particular activity is 20 minutes or 1/3 of an hour, which would be $100. I am open to discussing simple matters on the phone or by email, but any significant encounters discussed over the phone, which will require documentation of the encounter, will be billed based on my typical hourly rate.

Please note that I do NOT accept any insurance. I also do not accept Medicare or MediCal in this practice.

Unless otherwise agreed upon, full payment of your fee is expected at the time of your visit. Payment is preferred by cash, check or credit card. A valid credit card is required to make an appointment.

Superbill

I am an “out-of-network” provider. This means that I cannot bill your insurance company directly for my services. I can provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. To minimize any unpleasant surprises, please contact your insurance company ahead of time, and inquire about their “out-of-network” policies or benefits (if any). Ask about any deductibles, required prior authorizations, and how to go about submitting claims for reimbursement.

At the end of each session, and upon your request, I can provide a “superbill” with the charges and your payments, should you seek reimbursement from your insurance company.

Please keep in mind that most insurance providers will not reimburse for phone sessions, telemedicine services, nor missed appointments.
